Man booked for taking money in name of Police

KISHTWAR, Oct 5: Police booked a man for taking money in the name of Police.
As per official spokesman, a written application was received in Police Station Kishtwar wherein a person namely Ghulam Nabi, son of Mohammad Israhil (Numbardar Karool), resident of Banghran Saroor alleged that some days ago, he received a phone call from a person namely Sajjad Husain, son of Irshad Ahmed of Tatani Saroor that his father has been summoned by police and further told him that your father will be kept in custody by Kishtwar Police and demanded to transfer an amount of Rs 30,000 in his account on the pretext of his release while taking undue favours.
The applicant transferred the amount to his account. Meanwhile, father of the applicant approached SSP Kishtwar, he came to know that his presence has not been sought by any officer, following which the father of applicant narrated the whole story before police, the spokesman informed.
On this, a case FIR Number 182/2020 under section 420 IPC was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and the investigation of the case has been set in motion.
