JTC, SKF hunger strike enters 4th day

JAMMU, Oct 5: On the 4th day of the hunger strike launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) in support of their demands a warning was issued to Government that the hunger strike will continue till the demands are met.
The JTC and SKF president and convener, PCC Migrant Cell J&K, Shadi Lal Pandita said that hunger strike will continue until the demands are resolved.
Pandita said that the monthly cash assistance of relief holders should be enhanced from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month as the livelihood of the relief holders is not met in this era of inflation. Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president of Jagti(JTC) convener of Soan Kashmir Front and Sunil Koul general secretary who are also sitting on hunger strike said that the Government should provide one job to each migrant family in a house where there is no employee in the family for which a package of 20,000 jobs should be given. Out of these 20 ,000 posts 5,000 Class VI posts should be given to those who could not send their children for higher education after matriculation due to poverty and exiled life.
Pandita and the other members of the organizations who are on hunger strike said that the Government should provide free ration to pensioners whose pensions are very low. He said that the Government should met the other genuine demands like building three satellite townships in three districts of Kashmir Valley near Baramulla Srinagar and Anantnag. Compensation of 30 years be paid to migrant land owners for the property loss. In each and every district of Kashmir galley, 2 BHK sets should be built for package employees. On spot recruitment in Police be held in migrant camps and non camp areas and free loans should be given to over aged youth and migrants be paid the balance ex-gratia of the burnt houses.
