JAMMU, Oct 6: The Government today terminated the services of “political appointee” Dr Peer Ghulam Nabi as Mission Director, J&K Skill Development Mission made by former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
“The engagement of Dr Peer Ghulam Nabi as ex-officio Mission Director J&K Skill Development Mission ordered vide Government Order No. 1204-GAD of 2017 dated 19-9-2017, has been terminated with immediate effect,” a Government order issued today said.
Sources said Nabi had been appointed as the Mission Director by the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti through backdoor and there had been no mention of his tenure. It had been stated that he will continue as the Mission Director till the Mission lasts.
The Government ordered that Sajad Hussain Ganai, Director Skill Development J&K will hold the charge of Mission Director J&K Skill Development Mission in addition to his own duties till further orders.
