JAMMU, Oct 6: The current healthcare system in J&K is reeling under worst scenario amid global pandemic as J&K administration has failed to provide adequate healthcare facilities to save the lives of COVID-19 patients.
This was stated by senior Congress leader and former Minister, Mula Ram and DCC President Rural, Hari Singh Chib in a joint statement.
The Congress leaders said, despite raising the issue in concerned quarters, the situation still is same.
“Hue and cry is everywhere as there is shortage of oxygen and medical equipments in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and associated hospitals,” they maintained expressing concern over the rising number of COVID cases and casualties allegedly because of inadequate healthcare facilities in the hospitals.
“The increasing number of COVID cases in Jammu has frightened the people,” Mula Ram asserted.
DCC president Hari Singh flayed the Government for not taking any serious step in resolving the healthcare issue. “Administration is in deep slumber and failed to manage COVID-19 pandemic,” Singh said demanding adequate and proper facilities to save the precious lives.
“Inadequate healthcare system has taken a serious toll in Jammu as same could be seen from the rising COVID-19 cases and deaths due to the pandemic,” he said.
Singh also appealed the public to adhere to COVID-19 SOPs and take preventive measures to contain the spread of the pandemic.
