KATHUA, Apr 25: Provincial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) district unit Kathua held a demonstration at Power House Khrote More near here today. The protest was organized by .Davinder Sharma District president Kathua and chaired by P.CSharma Provincial President of the Union. Hundreds of workers participated the protest and raised slogans against Government for not fulfilling the just and genuine demands of PDD employees.
P.C Sharma while addressing the protestors said that the Union is doing its best to project all the problems of the employees before the Government but later is adopting delaying tactics in settling the same.
During meeting with Principal Secretary, the Union had discussed the issues like
Insurance cover scheme for all PDD employees including daily wagers, regularization of all daily wagers who have completed 7 year service, arrangement of special training course for all executive employees and provision of three years diploma course in engineering for the technicians on departmental expenses.
Besides re- organization of the Department with creation of sufficient posts for promotion of executive staff was also highlighted, he added.
He said Principal Secretary PDD agreed to solve all these issues within three months.
Sharma strongly demanded the adjustment of employees who have been promoted through DPC in February 2011, Implementation of employees welfare scheme for employees of Jammu province also, Promotion of all ITIs, non ITIs, Linemen, and SBAs who are having more than 7 years of stagnation in their existing pay scale, amendment in service recruitment rules with policy to re-designate the employees as Assistant Line Man, Fore Man, Senior Fore Man and Chief Fore Man etc, filling up the post of Administrative Officer in Chief Engineer M&RE Office which is lying vacant from the last one and half years and convening of DPC after every six months.
