3 drug peddlers arrested with narcotics

JAMMU, Oct 6: Police arrested three drug peddlers along with narcotics.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania laid a naka near Bahu Plaza and intercepted a Skoda Rapid car bearing registration number JK02AX-2454.
During checking, police team recovered 70 grams of cannabis from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Jivitesh Sayal, son of Param Sayal, a resident of Talab Tillo.
A case under FIR Number 258/2020 under Section 8/20/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Post Manwal during checking intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK14A-7058.
During frisking, police team recovered 480 grams of poppy straw and 20.60 grams cannabis from the possession of a person traveling in the vehicle and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Ranjeet Kumar, son of Madan Lal of Sunetar Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 171/2020 under Section 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation initiated.
In another incident, a team from Gangyal Police Station intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number JK02BG-0065 at Purmandal Morh.
During checking, 50 grams heroin was recovered from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Deepak Gupta, son of Vijay Gupta, a resident of Krishan Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 113/2020 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation initiated.
