BMS to continue agitation against anti worker provisions in Labour Codes

JAMMU, Oct 7: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has decided to continue agitation against anti workers provisions in Labour Codes.
The decision was taken 19th National Conference of BMS, which was held virtually.
The participants demanded immediately withdraw of the anti-worker provisions in the new Labour Codes and consultation meeting with BMS and other trade unions to make the Labour Codes beneficial to both worker and industry.
BMS also resolved to hold country wide “warning week” programmes from October 10 to 16 as a part of preparatory activities, will hold nationwide protests on October 28. If the Government is not ready to hear the voice of workers, BMS will hold a long and continuous agitation thereafter including national level strikes to protect right to strike and other labour rights.
“The Central and State Governments should stop the brutal way of amending labour laws, desist from indulging in ‘ordinance raj’ in labour sector and respect the views expressed by social organizations”, participants said.
They demanded the Government to call a round table of stakeholders and formulate a National Employment Policy.
They also demanded review of all pension schemes in favour of employees which included pension schemes under CCS Rules, NPS, financial sector schemes, EPS, UO sector etc.
They demanded Government to change the western GDP based faulty progress scale which is harmful to the environment and called for country wide awareness drive on a Bharatiya based model.
The National Conference was inaugurated by RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagavat, presided over by President Saji Narayanan and conducted by General Secretary Virjesh Upadhyay.
Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar released books published by BMS and Dattopant Thengadi Foundation.
Dr Bhagavati Prakash Sharma addressed the conference on the subject of “Way out of the impact of COVID situation”, while Organising Secretary Surendran spoke on “Thengadiji’s vision and future direction”.
The Conference elected Hiranmay Pandya (Baroda) as the National President and Binay Kumar Sinha (Patna) as National General Secretary.
It also elected a team of 31 office bearers and central executive committee of 100 members.
The Conference ended with the concluding speech of Sri Bhagayya, SahaSarkaryavah of RSS.
