Residents protest over dilapidated condition of link road

RAMBAN, Oct 7: Residents hailing from Chamalwas area of tehsil Banihal held protest.
A large number of residents assembled near Chamalwas and held protest. They took out protest mark to block the traffic movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, but were stopped by the police near Khanpura area.
The protestors raised slogans against the district administration for not getting the link road from Chamalwas to Neel repaired.
“The work on the Chamalwas-Neel link road is going since past three decades, but still the road is not fit to travel”, the protestors said, adding that potholes on the road has become an open invitation to accidents.
Due to dilapidated condition of the link road, hundreds of commuters have to face problems and no one from the administration is bothered about it, the protestors said.
The protestors demanded immediate repair of link road so that the commuters have some sigh of relief.
With a warning to intensify their protest, the protestors dispersed.
