BANIHAL, Oct 8: National Conference (NC) District Ramban president, Haji Sajjad Shaheen today expressed concern over the dilapidated road condition and lack of healthcare facilities in far flung areas of Banihal. In a handout Shaheen said that during his two day tour to various villages in Neel and Tajnihal areas he witnessed the neglect as far as development is concerned.
He claimed poverty, unemployment and development deficit in far-flung areas.
The NC leader alleged that people are baffled and confused and don’t know from where to get their problems redressed.
Shaheen visited many villages where the locals complained about scarcity of drinking water.
He said road network in far flung villages is also in dilapidated condition which has impacted the mobility and added to the miseries of the people.
Urging the R&B Department for taking up restoration and upgradation work on Chamalwas-Neel road immediately, the NC leader said the road is in bad shape and no effort is being made to improve and upgrade it.
He also raised deficiencies in education and health sectors and sought immediate filling up of vacant posts.
Shaheen said complaints about poor utility services have also been received from Khari-Trigam-Mahoo-Mabgit, Pogal-Paristan, Sumar, Sarachi, Amkote-Thachi, Hijhal, Nowgam, Bajmasta, Chaka, Sarbagni, Bingara, Kumbla, Phagow, Maligam, Chaknarwah, Sumar, Drupta, Harwari, Zamnag, Sinigam, Halla, Tajnihal and Hewagan villages.
NC Block president Neel, Ghulam Rasool Deng, Block president Ramsoo, Nisar Ahmad Sohil, Block president Pogal-Paristan, Riyaz Ahmed Mir, Sarpanch Tajnihal, Tanveer Ahmed Katoch, Block vice president Bahar Ahmed Naik, Youth Provincial Vice president Tariq Ahmad Dar, District Youth Secretary Musharraf Ahmed Naik, Youth District Joint Secretary Mohd Ashraf Koka, Youth Block presidents Imtyaz Ahmed Mughal, Block Youth Vice President Banihal Mashkoor Ahmed Draboo, Molvi Zulfiqar Ahmed, Youth leader Bilal Ahmed Wani besides Khadim Hussain Daing, Mohammad Naseem Deng and others also accompanied Shaheen during the tour.
