REASI, Oct 8: Baridar Sangarsh Committee (BSC) today organized a peacefully protest rally in Katra town against Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for misusing the allocated funds.
The rally started from main Bus Stand Katra and after passing through counter number 2, concluded at main Bazaar Katra. The Committee accused the Shrine Board for misusing the funds and hiding the figure of funds from the general public.
The committee also accused the Shrine Board for concealing or destroying the material facts regarding the deity i.e. Kuldevi Mata Vaishno Devi. They also opposed start of online paid ‘parsad’ distribution by the Shrine Board, stating that delivering parsad to devotees took many hands and therefore it may not be safe for the devotees in this Corona times.
Further, the committee accused the Shrine Board for selling parsad, stating that selling parsad by the Shrine Board shows that the Board is only a business entity which grabs the money from the devotees under garb of faith and sentiments.
The committee said the Baridars from ancient times look after the shrine but when the Shrine Board came up, started recruiting persons other than Baridars who do not have faith in the divine power and who were against the Baridars.
“This shows that the Shrine Board is totally a business entity and a dictatorial autonomous body who has no concern for the welfare of even Katra,” the protesting Baridars said.
