SRINAGAR, Oct 9: Government today accorded sanction to the placement of six faculty members of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar on higher posts in their own pay and grade.
According to the order, Dr Abdus Sami Bhat (Assistant Professor, Paediatrics) and Dr Umer Amin Qureshi (Assistant Professor, Paediatrics) have been placed as Associate Professor while Dr Arsalan F Rashid (Incharge Assistant Professor, Forensic Medicine) and Dr Riyaz Ahmad Lone (Incharge Assistant Professor, Physiology) have been placed as Associate Professor in their respective disciplines.
“Dr Syed Sajad Hussain (Lecturer, Pharmacology) and Dr Mohammad Younis (Lecturer, Pharmacology) have been placed as Assistant Professor,” the order reads and further states that the placement of the faculty members on higher posts have been sanctioned for a period of six months or till the posts are filled up on regular basis, whichever is earlier.
