JAMMU, Oct 10: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, today reviewed the status of on-going works of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex taken up under languishing project at a meeting of concerned officers.
Executive Director, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, Deepika K. Sharma; Director Tourism, Jammu, Raj Kumar Katoch; Director Floriculture, Jammu, SE, PWD (R&B), Jammu and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
Project Director, Mubarka Mandi Heritage Complex, Deepika Sharma briefed the Divisional Commissioner about the status of different works taken up under languishing project for the preservation and conservation of this prestigious site. She informed that the works are in progress and at different stages. She said that the works are being monitored regularly and stress is being laid on their timely completion.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed the need for close monitoring and close coordination of executing agencies for the timely completion of works. He called for adhering to all parameters of architectural values to preserve the pristine glory of this heritage site. He laid special emphasis on regular monitoring and ensuring quality of works.
He also reviewed the status of the prestigious project of Tourism Department’s Rs 10 crore “Musical Water Fountain with Light & Sound Show” project at Bagh-e-Bahu. He called upon the Director Tourism to speed up the progress and complete the project in the stipulated time frame. He stressed on taking appropriate steps for the creation of necessary additional facilities required for commissioning/ successful running of the project for the facilitation of pilgrims/tourists visiting the place.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner visited the Bagh-e-Bahu and inspected the project.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner also visited the Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and inspected the on-going work of Amusement Water Park being taken up under “Integrated Development of Tourism Infrastructure projects under Himalayan Circuit of Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The Director Tourism briefed about the progress of each component of the project and informed that the project will be completed by March, 2021. The Divisional Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the pace of work and directed for expediting the project and ensuring quality of work strictly as per the laid down specifications.
The Divisional Commissioner, in a separate meeting, also reviewed the progress of Shahpur Kandi Dam Project and Ujh Multipurpose Project.
Various issues related to the twin projects were discussed in detail and the Divisional Commissioner stressed upon the concerned officers to fast-track all the pending issues, especially related to the forest and wildlife clearance, land acquisition etc. He called for close synergy with all executing agencies and Punjab Government to ensure better results.
Chief Engineer, Irrigation & Flood Control and RTIC, Hamesh Manchanda, Chief Engineer, JKSPDC, Manjeet Kotwal, SE, RTIC, Ajay Gupta, Regional Wildlife Warden, Dr. M.K. Kumar attend the meeting and briefed about the progress of the project.
