JAMMU, Oct 10: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta today visited various parts of the city and started developmental works.
At Susheel Nagar and its adjoining area Gole, Talab Tillo in Ward-32 the Mayor started construction of deep drains.
Sat Pal Karlupia, JMC Councillor; Lavkesh Gondi, District Incharge IT Cell BJP and others were also present on the occasion while Arun Gupta, Executive Engineer; B.K Raina, Junior Engineer of Engineering Division-II and others also accompanied the Mayor who said that the work will be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 17 lakh to benefit residents of the area.
After this the Mayor along with Rekha Manhas, Councilor Ward-62 started construction work of deep drain at Raza Nagar (Chinore).
Ashwani Kumar, Executive Engineer; Deep Kumar Khajuria, Assistant Executive Engineer and others were also present there.
The Mayor said, an amount of Rs. 9.68 lakh has been sanctioned for this development work.
On this occasion locals demanded lifting stray animals from the locality on routine basis, deployment of more Safai Karamcharis for better sanitation, installation and repair of street lights in leftover areas, repair of lanes and drains etc.
The Mayor assured that all the issues will be taken up on priority and directed the concerned Engineering Wing to complete the work within stipulated time period by applying best quality material.
Later the Mayor visited Ward-66 with Tripta Devi, Councillor and inaugurated registration camp for Golden Cards under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana (PMABY) at Buta Nagar.
He also inaugurated another PMABY camp at shopping centre Bakshi Nagar area of Ward-27 being organized by S. Hardev Singh, Ward President BJP and S. Charanjeet Singh, Active Ward Member.
