KATHUA, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir BJP vice president, Yudhvir Sethi and president BJP Kissan Morcha, J&K, Omi Khajuria lambasted Congress for misleading farmers over farm bills.
Addressing a series of meetings at Kathua district, Yudhvir Sethi said that “the BJP Government is committed for the upliftment of the farming community and the recent farm bills are in favour of farmers, giving freedom to sell their produce on their terms and conditions.”
“Congress never supported any initiative taken by BJP led Government for the welfare of people hence have been misleading farmers on farm bills too while the BJP Government is committed to double the farmers income,” Sethi said.
Blaming the Congress, Sethi said that party has only confused the farmers. “Initiation of farm bills will introduce the modern technology and open buying and selling market for the farmers wherein they would have the luxury of selling their production anywhere in the nation,” he added.
Sethi said Congress is busy in petty politics while Modi Government is committed for the development of the nation in general and J&K in particular. He mentioned that Kathua district has witnessed massive development since Dr Jitendra Singh has become the Member Parliament of Kathua -Udhampur constituency.
He said that important projects like Shahpur Kandi, Biotech Park, Universities, works in education, health sector, Ujh Bridge, Keryan Gandyal bridge, Seed Processing Plant, many other bridges in border belt of Kathua have been got sanctioned by the local MP out of which many have been completed as well.
He said AIIMS, IIIM etc. premier institutions could only be possible due to the sincere efforts by Dr. Jitendra Singh. He stressed that Dr. Jitendra Singh always projected the core issues of the region while Congress has done nothing for the farmers in 70 years.
Omi Khajuria assured the farmers that the farm bills will also give freedom to them and they don’t have to deal with the middleman while selling their produce. “The Mandi system will be there but farmers would have the freedom of choice.”
“Farmers can sell their produce outside Agriculture produce market company (APMC). Farm Bills will bring a revolutionary change in the Agriculture market and would strengthen the economy of the farmers,” Khajuria added.
The programme was organised by district president BJP, Kathua Raghunandan Singh Babloo.
