SAMBA, Oct 12: Continuing its drive against the menace of illicit trade of drugs and liquor, Samba police arrested a bootlegger and recovered 21 bottles of illicit liquor at village Govindgarh, Ramgarh.
A police party of Police Station, Ramgarh while performing routine patrolling duty in Ramgarh area, reliably learnt regarding the sale of illicit liquor at village Govindgarh and a police party raided the spot and apprehended a person red handed who was selling illicit liquor at exorbitant rates to general public near ditch point at village Govindgarh, Ramgarh to gain the illegitimate profit.
During his frisking a total of 21 bottles of JK Special Whisky (01 bottle of 750 ml & 20 bottles 180 ml each) were recovered. The accused person who was identified as Omkar Singh, S/o Trilok Singh, R/O Govindgarh, Ramgarh was arrested on spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 106/2020 U/S 48 (f) Excise Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.
