Mayor starts development works

JAMMU, Oct 13: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta along with Nidhi Magotra, Councillor Ward-17 here today started the work of renovation and laying of slab on a Nallah at Pacca Talab in Ward-17.
Dinesh Gupta Councillor Ward-18, Balwan Singh, Ex-Councillor along with prominent residents of the area as well as Arun Gupta Executive Engineer division-II, Junior Engineer, concerned contractor and others were also present there.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said, an amount of Rs. 10 lakh has been sanctioned for this development work in terms of repair/laying of slab and other allied works of the Nallah and half of the work has already been completed.
He further said that the remaining work was delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic and directed the concerned engineering section and contractor to complete the work within stipulated time by applying best quality construction material.
Later on the Mayor along with Satpal Karlupia, Councillor Ward-32 visited different localities of the Ward-32, met the inhabitants who demanded deployment of more Safai Karamcharies in the Ward, installation of more street lights in the leftover areas and repair of the defunct ones.
Lifting of stray animals, construction/renovation of remaining lanes/drains and other related issues were also raised.
The Mayor assured that all their genuine issues will be sorted out on priority and started the renovation work of lanes and drains as well as black topping of the main lanes of Swarn Colony Trilokpur in Ward-32.
The Mayor was apprised by the engineering wing that this development work has been started with an estimate cost of Rs 10 lakh on the demands of the locals.
The Mayor in presence of Vikram Randhawa, Ex MLC, Vinay Gupta, District President BJP Jammu, Jaideep Sharma Councillor of Ward-22 and others inaugurated M/s Mahajan Drinks & General Provision Store in Shastri Nagar Jammu.
Parshotam Gupta owner of the Store and other prominent inhabitants of the locality were also present there.
Mayor appealed the general public to come forward and co-operate JMC in all development activities to make Jammu really a smart city.
