Govt sets up Panels on PMMSY

JAMMU, Oct 15: The Government today constituted Union Territory level Approval and Monitoring Committee and District Level Committees for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) in J&K.
The Committee will be headed by the Administrative Secretary Fisheries Department as Chairperson and will comprise the Administrative Secretaries of Agriculture, Jal Shakti and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department as Members.
Other Members of the Committee include Dean Faculty of Fisheries SKUAST-K, Convenor UTLBC and one or two non-official eminent persons of the UT having knowledge or associated with Fisheries sector. The Director Fisheries J&K will be the Member Secretary.
The District Level Committee will be headed by the Deputy Commissioner of the district and will have district head of Fisheries as the Member Secretary.
The members include district heads of Agriculture, Superintending Engineer Jal Shakti, ACD Rural Development and district representative of Tribal Affairs, one progressive fisher or fish farmer of the district, Manager District Lead Bank, district head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and one representative from Fisheries College or Fisheries Research Institute at the District Level.
