Manohar tours Billawar constituency

KATHUA, Apr 26: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today inaugurated various development projects during his extensive tour of Billawar constituency.
At village Sialana, Dr Sharma dedicated Water Filtration Plant constructed an estimated cost of Rs 2.39 crore under Water Supply Scheme Uchapind to the people.
Dr Sharma also inaugurated newly built additional building of Government High School Sialana. ZEO Billawar and other district and tehsil level officer were among those present at the inauguration.
Later, Dr Sharma also convened Public Grievance Camp at Sialana and listened to the problems of the people.
The representatives of the Sialana, Nalini, Galak and Moolan apprised the Minister about their problems and sought an early redressal.
They demanded blacktoping of link road, road for filtration plant, transformer to Sahri, upgradation of Primary School Nalini, Aanganwadi centres for the area, electric poles for Moolan, hand pump at Dhanna, appointment of adequate staff in schools, doctor for dispensary and Dugwell at Dhode.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, after giving a patient hearing,   assured that their problems will be addressed on priority. He said Government was committed to explore natural water resources and channelize them to cater the water need of the people especially in Kandi hilly area of the State. He said the filtration plant was aimed to make optimum use of available water and make it drinkable by treating it with modern techniques.
He disclosed that the work on Aglidhar Filtration Plant will commence soon.
Responding to the demands of up gradation of Government High School Sialana, the Minister assured that the same is under active consideration and will be addressed on priority.
Earlier, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma inaugurated Library cum Book Bank constructed in the memory of late Girdhari Lal Dogra (Ex Finance Minister) at his native village Bhaiya in tehsil Hiranagar.
