Sony Mobile has no immediate plans for Sub Rs.10K smart phones

BANGALORE, May 24: Sony Mobile Corporation today announced that it had no immediate plans to target the sub Rs.10,000 market of Smart Phones, whose spread is gradually increasing in India.
Sony Mobile Marketing Head,Mr Prasun Kumar, talking to newsmen here during the launch of new series of Xperia model of smartphones, said the company was watching the situation and would take a decision on entering the Sub 10 K market at an appropriate time.
He said currently the Xperia series of models would be available in the price range of Rs.10,000 to Rs.30,000.
Mr Kumar was here in connection with the launch of three new models of Xperia smart phones.
Replying to a question, Mr Kumar said that Sony was also in advanced stage of talks with various telecom operators for bundling their smartphone along with their service offers.
The three new models follows the launch of new Xperia model in April.
He said the new devices reflect the brand’s commitment to Indian consumers and cater to their wants. (UNI)
