Balbir demands Jasrota on tourism map

KATHUA, Oct 18: Former MLC and senior Congress leader, Th Balbir Singh today urged upon the Government to bring Jasrota and its adjoining forest areas on tourism map by developing infrastructure there.
After paying obeisance at famous Jasrota Kali Mata temple on auspicious occasion of Navratras, Singh hoisted the religious flag at the temple and prayed for peace and prosperity of J&K as well that of the country.
He said the Jasrota Fort, temple, forest etc in the area should be conserved and brought on tourism map of J&K.
The Congress leader also claimed that the area has deer, leopards and other wildlife animals which should be protected.
“Jasrota is a heritage place in J&K and it should not be left unattended and underdeveloped,” he maintained.
During visit, Singh appealed to the people to follow COVID-19 guidelines.
“We should cooperate with the administration in COVID mitigation,” he added and raised the problem of water shortage in the Kandi area and demanded that lifting of water from nearby water resources and establishing of more tube-wells.
The temple committee members present on the occasion were Jagdish Singh Jasrotia, Brij Lal Sharma, Balwan Singh, Kewal Singh, K.B Singh, Ramesh Singh and others.
