Bonanza for JK youth

Six premier Public Service Undertakings (PSU) of the country have agreed to train 3,675 candidates from the State in various skills which they are in a position to provide over a period of five years. Expenditure on the scheme will be entirely borne by the PSU concerned under their corporate social responsibility provision. This comes under the Udan Scheme for J&K, which was originally conceptualised by the team of experts constituted by PMO to suggest measures of removing unemployment among the educated youth of the State.
The new approach to addressing the problem of unemployment is to provide various job oriented skills to the youth. The Government rightly contacted the private industrial sector to play its role in giving new direction to the youth in building their career. There is likelihood of the youth being absorbed in the respective PSUs once they complete the training in the trade. We believe that this planning should go a long way in addressing the unemployment issue, and with the passage of time, larger number of educated unemployed will get the opportunity of starting a new career of learning and earning.
