NEW DELHI, Apr 27: Northern Railways is in the process of providing jobs to the family members of those people whose more than 75% land has been acquired by the Railways for Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail line project.
The Chief Public Relations Officer of the Northern Railways said, “as per the policy the job is given to one of the family members of those land loser whose more than 75% land has been acquired by the Railway for Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project, provided the family member fulfills the requirement of educational qualification and prescribed age limit”.
From Anantnag district of Kashmir province so far 333 cases have been received for appointment and out of these jobs have been given in 172 cases and in 48 cases the wards of the land loser were found ineligible for not fulfilling requirements of educational qualification being over-age.
A total of 111 cases have been withheld by the State Government in July 2011 as district authorities detected that in such cases the documents submitted by the land losers were forged / fabricated and these required re-verification, the CPRO said, adding “district administration desired that these cases may be returned to them for re-verification and all such cases were sent to the district administration. The re-verified cases are still awaited from the district authorities while as remaining two cases are under process”.
He said that there was no delay by Railway in providing jobs to eligible persons after verification by State Government.
