CB produces charge-sheet against fraudster

JAMMU, Oct 23: Crime Branch (CB) Jammu today produced preliminary charge-sheet against a fraudster for duping several unemployed youth of Jammu on the pretext of arranging Government jobs.
“A written complaint was lodged by Vikas Sharma son of Kulwant Raj, resident of Sungal (Akhnoor), Pardeep Kumar son of Bodh Raj, resident of Sandal (Chowki-Choura) and Sanjay son of Lal Chand, resident of Mawa Brahmana (Akhnoor) against the accused namely Mohd Syed Shah son of Bhaw-ud-Din Shah, resident of Budshami Nagar, Natipora, Srinagar in police station Crime Branch Jammu,” a police official said.
He said the complainants in their complaint alleged that the accused who claimed to be working on the post of Agriculture Assistant in J&K Agriculture Department, received a cash of Rs 2.50 lakh, Rs 2.50 lakh and Rs 2 lakh, respectively for arranging their appointments on permanent basis in Secretariat at Srinagar, but neither the accused got them appointed as promised nor did he return their money.
Accordingly, he said, the Crime Branch Jammu initiated a preliminary verification against the accused and during enquiry the allegations were prima-facie substantiated following which the instant case was registered under the relevant sections of law.
“During investigation, it was revealed that accused had cheated the complainants by impersonation and posing himself as Agriculture Assistant and duped them of their hard earned money to the tune of Rs 7 lakh fraudulently on the pretext of arranging Government jobs for them,” the official said.
He said sufficient evidences were collected and the accused was arrested on 26-08-2020. His bail application was also rejected by the Court he was sent on judicial remand. Today, Crime Branch Jammu produced preliminary charge-sheet against the accused in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Jammu and is further committed to Court of Ld Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu, in case FIR Number 47/2019 U/S 420 RPC of police station Crime Branch Jammu.
