PM package candidates’ protest enters 22nd day

JAMMU, Oct 23: The protest of 45 candidates belonging to displaced Kashmiri Pandit community who were dropped from the selection for employment under P.M. package during 2017 has entered into 22th day today near Press Club Jammu.
These candidates are demanding their selection under P.M.Package. The striking candidates have been crying for their rightful demand. They said instead of knocking the doors of Lt. Governor, advisors and other administrative secretaries their demand for selection has not been met but only hollow assurances were given to them by concerned quarters.
The protestors said the Government machinery has turned a deaf ear towards their demand of selection and instead have started process of fresh publishing advertisements under P.M package employment, which itself shows that Government is not serious for the selection. As the candidates have now tasted the overage and are not able to apply again for any employment, which is another injustice with them. “We again submit before the Lt. Governor, Advisor concerned, Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary, Education, J.K.U.T, and Divisional Commissioner Jammu to accede our genuine demand for consideration of our selection under P.M. package employment scheme at an earliest, otherwise we 45 left out candidates shall be forced to take any drastic step for which the Government will be responsible”, they warned.
They said that for any untoward incident to them and their families who are under mental, physical and financial trouble, the Government shall have squarely to face the consequences, as the judiciary has also directed for their selection during 2017 and the file is languishing on the tables in Civil Secretariat since then. The candidates are only getting verbal hollow assurance.
