KU’s USIC advisory board meeting held

SRINAGAR, Apr 27: To evaluate the progress and the establishment of Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) permanently in the University and discuss the various projects taken by the University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) an advisory board meeting was held here at Kashmir University on Saturday.
In the meeting Vice Chancellor, KU, Prof Talat Ahmad assured the centre of all possible assistance to help establish permanently this center in the university.
He said, “the university is in pursuit of working on various innovative projects with Tata Industries. The main aim of this initiative is to help innovators to find a platform for shaping their ideas.”
EDC was established five years ago with the support of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah had many a times in past assured to grant EDC a permanent place in the university.
Director USIC, EDC Prof GM Bhat requested the administration to allocate some space for the department so that the centre does not face any hurdles in its activities.
Registrar, KU Prof Zaffar Ahmad Reshi directed the centre to find some youth with innovative ideas and guide them to give shape to their raw ideas.
The meeting was attended by various members including those from the corporate, banks, different Universities and various business unions and organisations.
