Court denies bail to 3 accused in attempt to murder case

JAMMU, Apr 27: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua, M K Hanjura has rejected the bail application of Avinandan Gupta, Abhinav Gupta, both brothers and Rimpi Singh, who were allegedly involved in attempt to murder case.
According to the police case, on April 21, 2013, the petitioners attacked Anup Singh with sticks and an iron rod with the intention to kill him. The critically injured victim was rushed to District Hospital with grievous injuries.
After hearing Advocate Kirty Bhushan appearing for the applicants whereas PP Ravi Kumar Gupta for the State, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “the alleged crime is cruel, heinous and brutal. The law is that the very seriousness of the offence alleged is a sufficient ground to reasonably believe that the accused may misuse their liberty by interfering with the evidence that may be available in the case, if possible or by absconding, if tampering is not possible”.
“As far as the facts and circumstances of the case are concerned, a young man has been brutally assaulted and he is still in hospital”, the Court said while rejecting the bail application of the accused.
