Court acquits 2 OGWs of LeT

JAMMU, May 24: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, Jang Bhadur Singh Jamwal, today acquitted two alleged OGWs of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) namely Mohd Amin and Shakar Hussain, both residents of village Dhanwan, Rajouri, as the prosecution failed to connect the accused with the commission of offence.
According to police case, Mohd Amin and Shakar Hussain were involved in anti-national activities and providing secret information regarding security forces to the militants and elements hostile to the Country.
After hearing both the sides, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “there is no evidence to prove that the letter written on the letter head of the militants was recovered from any of the accused. There is also no evidence on record that the accused were found negotiating with any militant organization or any member of any such organizations or in any manner had any links with such organization and as such cannot be held to be enemy agents”.
“There is also no evidence of conspiracy with any militant organization and had ever supported their cause directly or indirectly prejudicial to the interest of the Country or the State”, the Principal Sessions Judge further observed.
With these observations, Court acquitted both the accused of the charges leveled against them.
