Oldest case settled in Lok Adalat

KISHTWAR, Apr 27:  The mobile Lok Adalat held at Paddar, the remotest Tehsil of the State, has created record by settling the oldest case, which was instituted on April 2, 1969 heard and adjudged by various courts.
Two generations of litigants expired during the pendency of case titled Nand Lal Versus Tara Devi and presently the 3rd generation of litigants was contesting the case. In this mobile Lok Adalat, 7 cases were taken and all were decided through meditation, conciliation and compromise.
The mobile Lok Adalat was presided over by Ajay Kumar Gupta, Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar, who is also Chairman of Tehsil Legal Services Authority, Kishtwar, which was assisted by Advocate M R Rathore.
Later, legal awareness camp was also organized in which battery of lawyers including Bar President O P Parihar, M H Waza, Susheel Parihar,  Sandeep Sen and Public Prosecutor Ravinder Goswami delivered speeches to make aware the general public about their rights.
