Release 2 months ration to displaced employees, pensioners: DNWC

JAMMU, Oct 27: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) has expressed concern over the failure of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department (FCSCAD) in releasing the last two months ration quota to displaced employees and pensioners on the basis of cash payment.
In a meeting held at Durga Nagar today under the leadership of the president of the Committee, Roshan Lal Raina it made an appeal to Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha in this regard and sought his immediate intervention in the matter. It said the migrant employees and pensioners have been deprived of ration for last two months and they are facing many hardships.
The meeting demanded immediate construction of lanes and drains in Durga Nagar and urged the R&B Department to start the work immediately as tenders for the same were called over two months back.
It said that PDD has erected electric poles in the area but has failed to lay the conductor with the result people in some localities of Durga Nagar are facing problems. The meeting also demanded that Government should pay attention towards the demands of JTC whose activists are on chain hunger strike for last 26 days.
