JAMMU, Oct 27: The dead body of a missing man was recovered today from a canal in Paloura area of city outskirts.
“Deepak Kumar Anand (45) son of Tilak Raj, resident of Pata Chungi (Jammu), had been missing since October 23,” a police official said.
He said on suspicion of his drowning in Ranbir Canal, the discharge of water in the Canal was stopped from Chenab river in Akhnoor and as a result, his dead body was recovered this morning from the Canal near Paloura.
“After postmortem, the body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceeding in this connection was initiated by Domana police,” the official added.
