Traffic suspended on NH for 5 hrs

RAMBAN, Oct 27: The traffic on busy Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was suspended for over five hours after landslides near Nachlana in Banihal area this morning.
Official sources said that due to sudden land slides at Nachlana near Banihal, where road widening work was in full swing, the Jammu-Srinagar highway was closed at around 6 am today. The restoration work was commenced by the National Highway authorities at around 8 am and the road was cleared at around 11 am.
A large number of vehicles remained stranded on both sides for over five hours and the traffic jams and very slow movement of traffic on the highway was witnessed for several hours till this afternoon, sources added.
