JAMMU, Oct 28: The Vijeshwar Panchang for the year 2021-2022 was released at a simple but impressive function held at Jyotshi Karyalya, Gole Gujral by Pt Omkar Nath Shastri, chairman Pt Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan and editor in chief of Vijeshwar Panchang.
The Jyotshi Karyalya Bijbehara, Anantnag is publishing Panchang for last hundreds of years and it is being considered a dharmic granth and guide by Kashmiri Pandits putting in any corner of the world, said Pt Omkar Nath Shastri while speaking on the occasion.
He said it is a complete religious guide for the community members and its role became more significant after the mass exodus of the community from Kashmir in the year 1989-90 as the Panchang became the only link to the community to its roots throwing light on religious festivals, traditions, rituals etc.
Shastri Ji, while highlighting the role of the Panchang said this religious guide touches every aspect of religious and social life as per Shastras. He said after the turmoil the role of the Panchang has become more important in knitting entire community in one string all over the globe to keep their identity intact.
The function was also attended by Pt Bushan Lal Shastri and Pt Avtar Krishan Shastri.
