SRINAGAR, Nov 1: A fire broke out in the houses of some people in Gurez area few days back and all the items kept in the house were reduced to ash.
The locals and administration requested NHPC CMD, Abhay Kumar Singh to assist the victim families and the CMD in turn immediately gave directions for help to such families.
NHPC provided immediate CSR & SD assistance to the affected families. GIC sheets and blankets were distributed among the victim families in presence of district administration.
Speaking on the occasion NHPC CMD said they are always ready to help the people of project area through CSR and ensured that benefits of CSR & SD activities go to the people who really deserve it.
A handout of NHPC stated that significant work is being done by the Corporation in the development of local areas through CSR & SD and this included the works done by all the power stations in J&K in their adjoining areas for the benefits of the project area people.
Apart from distributing masks, sanitizers etc in the areas around the power stations during the period of COVID-19 pandemic, awareness programmes in collaboration with local administration are also being conducted on ‘how to protect oneself from COVID-19’. The handout also informed that to celebrate its foundation day, NHPC had planned mass blood donation camps on November 7, 2020.
