17 new cases in Ladakh

JAMMU, Nov 1: An elderly person today died of COVID-19 in Jammu City and 171 persons tested positive in the region while 211 others recovered from the virus.
A 71-year-old man from Jain Bazaar area in Jammu City died of pathogen in a private hospital at Ludhiana and his body was later shifted here for cremation.
Among 171 Corona positive cases in Jammu region, 108 were reported from Jammu district. Of them, 106 were locals and two travelers. Udhampur district reported 22 cases including 20 locals.
Rest all eight districts in the Jammu region reported below two digit COVID positive cases including Kishtwar nine, Doda and Kathua six each, Poonch and Ramban five each, Reasi and Rajouri four each and Samba two.
Twenty five persons tested positive for the virus in Jammu district during Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT).
As many as 211 persons today recovered from the virus in Jammu region, the highest being 135 in Jammu district followed by 26 Poonch, 15 Doda, 13 Kishtwar, 10 Rajouri, seven Udhampur and five in Kathua district. Samba, Ramban and Reasi districts didn’t report any recoveries today.
With today’s Corona casualty, Jammu region’s death count has reached 496 which include 258 in Jammu district, 47 Rajouri, 46 Doda, 32 Udhampur, 31 Kathua, 25 Samba, 22 Poonch, 14 Kishtwar, 13 Ramban and eight in Reasi district.
Jammu region now has 37960 Corona positive cases. Of them 1819 are active positive while 35465 have recovered from the virus. There have been 496 casualties in the region.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 17 new Coronavirus cases including 16 in Leh district and one in Kargil.
The new cases have taken Ladakh’s Corona tally to 6287—4411 in Leh and 1876 in Kargil. Of them, 583 are active cases including 463 in Leh and 120 in Kargil as 5629 persons have recovered from the virus, 3911 in Leh and 1718 in Kargil.
Ladakh UT has 75 Corona casualties-37 in Leh and 38 in Kargil district.
Of 583 active positive cases in Ladakh, 73 are admitted in COVID hospitals, 434 are in home isolation, 33 in COVID Care Centers and 36 in Facility Isolation.
