JAMMU, Nov 3: A meeting of J&K Pensioner Association was held under the chairmanship of S. Amrik Singh, former Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) leader in which long pending demand of pensioners and as well as Government employees were discussed.
Demanding a hike in medical allowance from Rs. 300 to 1000 at par with Central Government employees and pensioners, Association leaders said nothing extra has been given to J&K employees and pensioners after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A.
“The 7th Pay Commission was already given to J&K employees from April 2016 except some allowances for which we are still deprived even after abrogation of Article 370,” Amrik Singh said.
Other speakers in the meeting claimed that some leaders at Centre are misleading the people of J&K on benefits given by Centre to J&K employees.
They said issues of employees and pensioners are still pending while the daily wagers and contractual employees are still on road.
“Nobody is bothered about those who served in different Government Departments for more that 15-25 years,” they maintained urging the Central Government and J&K LG to look into the genuine demands of pensioners.
The meeting was attended by former EJAC leaders S. Balwinder Singh, Darshan Lal Sharma, Sudesh Sharma, M.A Rather, Ghulam Mohi-u-din Mir, Ashok Kumar, Dev Raj, Chanchal Singh, Pritam Singh Rathore, V.N Khajuria, Narinder Singh Jandraia and others.
