MENDHAR, Nov 3: National Conference (local unit) staged a protest demonstration against the new land laws notified for the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
A large number of National Conference workers assembled in Mendhar town and raised slogans against Central BJP government. Former MLA Mendhar and senior NC leader Javed Rana was leading the protest.
While addressing media, Rana said that the recently amended J&K Land Laws are anti-people, anti-poor and anti-Jammu Kashmir, alleging that the changes reflected the “sheer frustration” of the BJP.
Javed Rana said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are being used by the Central Government to settle its own score and a policy of permanent demographic change is aggressively being pushed.
He further said that the Central government should not test the patience of peace-loving citizens of J&K by “snatching their land and job. Scores of police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order during NC protest.
