Jagti tenants demand restoration of power

JAMMU, May 24: Tenants of Jagti township today held a protest march against 18 hours power cut, terming it the violation of human rights.
They demanded immediate restoration of power supply as it is affecting badly the study of their wards.
Besides, they also demanded enhancement of relief and employment to unemployed youths.
The protestants said that the Community would not reach any agreement with the Government until they were not provided compensation of their damaged property, which had been left in the Valley on their migration to Jammu in 1990.
They alleged that they had to be thrown out of the Valley for the sake of the country and it is the responsibility of the Government to provide basic amenities free of cost to them till their return, adding that if the Government failed to provide the same then the community would be forced to come on roads to get their rights.
The protestants also demanded proper share from the State budget for which the community has been deprived since 1990.
Those took part in the protest march include RN Dhar, AK Bhat, Prem Nath, Bushan Lal, Dilip Pandita, Ravi Zutshi and many others.
