JAMMU, Apr 28: Police today arrested driver of Handa College bus, who had crushed a 2-year-old toddler at Sainik Colony.
On specific inputs, police party from Sainik Colony police post conducted raid at Chowadhi and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Mohd Nazir, son of Mohd Din of tehsil Haveli, district Poonch.
As reported, a 2-year-old boy was crushed by a Handa College bus bearing registration number JKO2AG-5314 in Sainik Colony area of the winter capital yesterday.
After committing the offence, the driver fled from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle, which was seized by the police.
The victim was identified as Sagar, son of Ram Bahadur of Madhya Pradesh, at present Sainik Colony.
The toddler was crossing the road, when the driver of the Handa College bus hit him leading to his death.
In this regards, a case under FIR No 33/13 stands registered at police post Sainik Colony and further investigation into the case is going on.
