Residents protest against Pollution Control Deptt

KATHUA, Nov 6: The residents of Chack Ram Singh, Industrial area and Govindsar held protest against Pollution Control Department for its failure to check and control air and water pollution.
Large number of people assembled outside Tyre Factory and Agro Industry and held protest against the hazardous pollution emitting out from these factories.
The protestors also blocked the Govindsar road for half an hour and raised slogans against the Pollution Control Department.
Due to road blockade, traffic movement also came to halt.
The protestors Mohan Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Ajay Kumar and Ganesh Kumar while speaking said that Agro, Tyre and Cement factories create air pollution in large way.
“A big layer of black pollution could seen in night hours and local population is badly affected with it”, they said, adding that chemical water coming out from Agro Industries spread out on the Govindsar road, which may lead to health hazard.
They condemned the working of Pollution Control Department, which has failed to check the hazardous pollution.
Later, the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the road.
