SRINAGAR : An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter Scale jolted parts of Kashmir valley in the wee hours on Saturday, forcing people to come out of their homes in panic.
Official sources said that tremor measuring 4.3 hit parts of Kashmir valley at around 0429 hrs on Saturday. “The epicenter of the earthquake was 21 km from Dool in Kishtwar in Jammu region,” they said, adding its depth was 10 km.
They said tremor was mostly felt in south Kashmir, particularly in areas surrounding world famous health resort of Pahalgam. “There were no reports of any loss of life or damage to property due to the earthquake,” they said. (AGENCIES)
