Sir,
Refer news item ”Ladakh standoff : Indian and Chinese armies hold 8th round of military talks” Nov 7, 2020.
It is quite necessary that Government of India maintains pressure over China until it retraces its steps back. By now China has realized its folly of going on a misadventure in Ladakh region and is paying a cost for it. The eight round of talks held by the two countries to find a solution to this vexed problem have so far yielded no result.
And going by the impasse at the border, it seems that China is bent upon deteriorating the condition which will not be in the interest of both the nations.
India’s soft approach towards China right from 1947 upto the recent standoff has given the rogue country a leeway to act as per her own wishes and caprices. But that is not the case now.
The bold step taken by Indian Army to dominate some strategically located heights has given China a rude shock.
The Government of India by taking several counter measures has put China on the backfoot, if not fully subdued. By maintaining pressure, China will have no option but to vacate the area.
