JAMMU, Nov 11: Former State president, BJP and Ex-MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma (CA) started works for laying fresh water pipes at Ward 37 of Jammu West Assembly segment. He was accompanied by JMC corporator, Sunita Gupta, BJP Janipur Mandal president, Raveesh Mengi, Jal Shakti officials, local residents and political activists of the area.
The works will be done under the supervision of Jal Shakti Department at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh and area around Teen Murti Mandir, Janipur will be covered under the same.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that it was a long pending demand of the locals which has been fulfilled with the efforts of the local Corporator and concerned department. He said the area was suffering with acute shortage of water supply and in many lanes the quality of the water was also not up to the mark as the previously installed pipes were decades old and there was a dire need to replace them so keeping in view the sentiments of the public, the pipes are now being replaced with new ones. He said from basic amenities to best level infra, Jammu West is equipped with everything and wherever there is a need to take up any pending work, the works are being taken to avoid public distress.
Sunita complimented the former MLA and stated that his role has been immense in providing every possible infra to the residents of Ward 37. She also stated that in other areas of Ward where installation of new pipes is necessary will also be done in order to provide fresh drinking water to thousands of masses in the Ward.
Raveesh said that Ward 37 is the largest Ward in terms of population in Jammu West and crores of rupees were spent during the tenure of former MLA in the Ward and other wards of the constituency which has changed the infrastructural scenario across Jammu West in last six years.
JE Deepak Gupta, Inspector Raju, Sanjay Bhat, Sahil Gupta, Mohan Sharma, Vicky Sharma, Mukesh Maini, Ashok Kumar, Swarn Singh, Deep Sehgal, BL Tickoo, Sahil Anand, Avinash Anand and several others were also present.
