JAMMU, Apr 30: State High Court today ordered status-quo in the promotion of 124 Junior Engineers as Assistant Engineers Civil.
The promotion was challenged in the petition filed by Gh Qadir and others on the ground that those promoted vide Government Order No.149-PW (R&B) of April 26, 2013 were junior to the petitioners.
After hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioners, Justice Tashi Rabstan said, “in view of the submission made in the application which is supported by an affidavit, the same is allowed. The requirement of submission of copies of paper-book for the private respondents is dispensed with”. The Court also issued notice to the respondents returnable within four weeks.
In the meantime, High Court ordered that subject to objections from other side and till next date of hearing, status-quo as it exists today shall be maintained.
