7 shops gutted in Bandipora

SRINAGAR, Nov 16: At least 7 shops were destroyed today after a fire broke out in Aloosa Village of district Bandipora during the intervening night of Sunday-Monday.
Officials said that a massive fire broke out in the area at around 2 am following which the fire tenders were brought to the spot to douse the flames.
Eyewitnesses said that the fire emerged out of a bakery shop in the area which later spread to other shops. “When the fire tenders reached the spot, the fire had already engulfed the nearby shops,” they said.
The officials stated that in the fire incident no loss to human lives was reported and that the cause of the fire was being ascertained.
It took the fire tenders more than 2 hours to douse down the flames and after a tiring exercise, the personnel of the Fire Department were able to control the spread of the fire and ultimately bringing it under control.
