JAMMU, Apr 30: Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu’s outgoing Principal Dr Aniece Choudhary, who retired from the services today, handed over the charge to Dr Shashi Gupta, Head of Gynecology Department.
Official sources said Dr Choudhary relinquished the office late this evening on his retirement giving the charge to Dr (Mrs) Gupta.
It may be mentioned here that the Government has not appointed the successor of Dr Choudhary so far. The Government hadn’t issued any direction to Dr Choudhary on giving the charge.
The Medical Education Department has already decided to submit proposal on appointment of the new Principal before the Cabinet after reopening of the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar on May 6.
It was an unceremonious exit for Dr Choudhary as neither the Medical Teachers Association (MTA) nor his parent ENT Department or para-medical staff bade him farewell on his retirement.
