People allege non-supply of K.Oil in hilly, snowbound areas

POONCH, Nov 17: The people from Mankote, Balakote, Mandi, Surankote and Mendhar in district Poonch have alleged non-supply and severe shortage of kerosene oil in these remote and snow bound area for the last several months.
Sources said that resentment was brewing among the locals of the area over the shortage of kerosene and non-availability of quota at the depots of the CAPD/ FSC& CA department. They pointed out that harsh winters have started and in case of rain and snow fall, power supply remain affected for days together in hilly area and under such circumstances, the villagers in such mountainous and far – flung areas are mainly dependent on Kerosene oil. Their sufferings have increased manifold.
They alleged that District Administration has failed to provide adequate supply to the general public. For the last three months, there was no supplies and many depot holders claimed that their licenses were not being renewed by the concerned officials. The locals have urged the District Administration Poonch and the Director CAPD Jammu to ensure Kerosene Oil supplies in these hilly and snow bound areas.
