SC’s body calls on SEBCC

JAMMU, Nov 17: A deputation of All J&K Scheduled Castes Welfare Association today projected the issues of SC community before the J&K Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Commission, constituted recently to look into the issues of socially and educationally backward classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the UT of J&K.
The deputation led by president of the Association, Om Raj Bhal and Som Nath Dogra, general secretary, along with other members held discussion with the Commission members and also submitted a memorandum projecting their issues.
They demanded extending economic support in the form of scholarships to the wards of Scheduled Castes in pre and post Matric classes, implementation of all social welfare schemes through respective departments with accountability, renovate Government school building and raise teaching standard in such schools, reservation for the Scheduled Castes as per the Constitution of India be implemented in letter and spirit and land ownership of the dwelling houses be given to the people belonging to Scheduled Castes, wherever, they are living since years.
