People of village Sumb on hunger strike

SAMBA, Nov 18: The residents of hilly area of village Sumb are continuously on hunger strike for last three days demanding immediate starting of the work of blacktopping on Sumb road.
According to the report, a large number of people of village Sumb sat on chain hunger strike on November 16 at village Sumb under the leadership of Kalbushan Singh. They raised slogan against the UT Government. They alleged that the condition of the Sumb road is worst for last many years but the concerning department has failed to complete the work of the road. Not only this, the passengers of village Sumb and its adjoining villages are facing lot of difficulties while moving on this road.
Although, a famous Baba Goran Shrine is also situated at village Goran and the people of Samba and other districts are visiting the shrine on Sundays to pay obeisance to Baba Goran but for last two days the rush of the devotees has decreased due to bad condition of the road. They demanded immediate starting of the work of blacktopping and construction of the road and in case it is further delayed, the people will resort to agitation, they added.
