JAMMU, Nov 18: Esteem Society for Biotic and Environmental Research (SBER) has awarded Dr Banarsi Lal, Incharge, Sr Scientist-cum-Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of SKUAST-Jammu with the ‘Outstanding Scientist Award’ on the basis of his commendable contributions and meritorious achievements in the field of agriculture.
The outstanding achievements and commitments of the scientist were genuinely considered by the society (SBER) for the coveted award. The research panel considered Dr Banarsi for the Outstanding Scientist Award on the basis of his exponential model of communication, efforts for organic farming, research publications as first author, books as first author, book chapters as first author, success stories as first author, popular articles as first author, PI and Co-PI of Projects, case studies as first author, invited talks, trainings imparted, consultancy services, SHGs/Farmers Clubs managed, research and extension technologies devised, refined and disseminated, organic agriculture etc.
Dr Banarsi hails from Kathua district of J&K and has been working at KVK, Reasi for more than 13 years.
