Burglars strike in Sony showroom

JAMMU, May 1: Thieves struck in a Sony showroom situated near Auqaf Market, Gandhi Nagar and decamped with electronic products worth lakhs of rupees.
Police official said that a group of burglars struck last night in Sony electronics showroom owned by one Deva Nand and decamped with electronic goods worth lakhs.
He said that electronic gadgets including laptops, mobiles and digital cameras worth lakhs were stolen from the showroom.
There is no CCTV camera, installed in the showroom and to identify the burglars will be somehow difficult, he said, adding that the forensic officials have collected the samples.
“Without opening the locks, the thieves decamped with the electronic gadgets, has raised doubt of key making gang operative in the region, as few days back with the same modus operandi, some thieves struck in a shop situated at Canal Road, falling under the jurisdiction of Nowabad police station.
“A duplicate key making gang might be active in the region, but it will be cleared after completion of the investigations”, he added.
A case has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigations are in progress, he informed.
